Iittala’s Apple Bottle glass sculpture belongs to Oiva Toikka’s colourful and imaginative Fruits and Vegetables art glass series. The collection of playful produce was originally designed in 1989 and, to the delight of all Toikka fans, brought back by Iittala in the 2020s.
Made of cranberry-red glass with a reflective, lustrous leaf, the glass apple is a prime example of Oiva Toikka’s bold, cheeky and experimental approach to design. Each whimsical fruit is made of mouth-blown glass at the Iittala glass factory in Finland, making them all one-of-a-kind art pieces that not only demonstrate the infinite imagination of Oiva Toikka, but also the stupendous skills of Iittala’s glassblowers.
